Mark A. Chmiela, MD

Dr. Mark Chmiela is a board-certified anesthesiologist and pain medicine specialist dedicated to providing patient-centered, evidence-based care for individuals living with acute and chronic pain. He is known for his thoughtful, attentive approach and his commitment to listening carefully to each patient’s concerns.

Originally from Canada, Dr. Chmiela earned his medical degree from the Jagiellonian University Medical College in Krakow, Poland. He completed both his Anesthesiology residency and Pain Medicine fellowship at the Cleveland Clinic, where he also served as Chief Fellow, before relocating to Las Vegas.

Dr. Chmiela emphasizes accurate diagnosis, clear communication, and individualized treatment planning. His clinical focus includes caring for individuals with complex or chronic pain conditions, injured workers, and patients recovering from trauma. Patients often describe his care as compassionate and thorough, noting the time he takes to explain diagnoses, treatment options, and expectations.

Dr. Chmiela welcomes patients with health insurance, personal injury claims, and workers’ compensation cases. He is proud to bring a thoughtful, patient-centered approach to his new practice, Northern Oak Pain Institute.
